Setting a clock in location

Is there a way to set up a location for clock in?

My employees have a habit of clocking in and out at home instead of at work. They have the ability to clock in on their phones and I want to keep that without using a kiosk. I have location set to required and they can't edit their timesheets.

Setting a clock in location

Hello there,

Welcome to the Community. I can clarify information about the feature you need related to clocking in using QuickBooks Time.

The ability to set up a clock-in location for employees is unavailable in QuickBooks Time. You can only add a geofence to your job or customer to get reminders to clock in and out of a job site or use GPS tracking.

I know how beneficial having this feature is to managing employees. Our product engineers provide updates to improve the features and options, including clocking in and out.

I recommend sending feedback about the ads directly to our engineers. We also make changes and adjustments based on user feedback. Here's how to submit feedback via QuickBooks Workforce (formerly QuickBooks Time mobile app):

  1. In the Workforce app, select Setting or More, then Settings.
  2. Select Help & Support, then Suggest an idea.
  3. Enter your feedback, and select Send feedback.

Also, your team member list may include employees, vendors or contractors, or admin staff. Here's a link you can check out for more information on how to manage your team members in QuickBooks Time: Add and manage team members in QuickBooks Time.

Let us know if you still have more questions about managing employee timesheets by leaving a reply. We'll be around to help you out. Take care, and have a great rest of the day.
