Greetings and welcome to the Community space, @Bonnie 1. I am pleased to offer assistance in providing information regarding the resolution of the error message encountered in QuickBooks.
The error message you received (Could not start QuickBooks) typically means there is an incorrect/invalid QuickBooks company file path set in the optional field.
To fix this, open the In MyWorks Sync menu and verify that the QuickBooks Company file path is accurate. If it is incorrect, it will cause this error, and the path should end with.qbw. As an example, it should look something like this:
C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files.qbw
This path can be easily found in QuickBooks by pressing F2 or Control + 1 on your keyboard to open up the following window in QuickBooks Desktop. To confirm that the file path is causing the issue is to simply remove it and click save on the right (no need to regenerate the QWC file). Then, if the web connector runs successfully while QuickBooks is open, this confirms the path is the issue and simply needs to be corrected.
Additionally, I'd like to provide the following articles that address the connection between QBDT and QB Time and could be useful to you in account management:
If you have other concerns or encounter errors in QuickBooks, please don't hesitate to leave a message. I'm here to assist you at all times. Have a wonderful day, and remember to always take care!
