Time off codes greyed out, cannot choose code to approve time off

I’m new to Quickbooks online and QuickBooks Time.  I’m having an issue where despite having ‘unpaid time off’ assigned to employees within payroll, they cannot choose that option for time off requests.  When I go to Time off settings all codes but Holiday and Vacation are greyed out and I cannot edit them.  Anyone have a solution that I’m missing?

Welcome to the Community, CRHad. I'll share details regarding the greyed-out time-off codes from your settings so you can set them up accordingly for your team.

 

Please know that time off codes and accruals for codes like holiday, sick, and personal time are set up by admins. Therefore, it's essential to ensure you log in as an admin in QuickBooks Time to perform all these necessary updates for your team.

 

On the other hand, you also need to turn on time off to allow your team members to add their own time off requests. To do this, you can proceed to these steps:

 

  1. In QuickBooks Time, go to Company Settings.
  2. Choose Time Options, then the Time Off tab.
  3. Select Administrators and Managers. It's encouraged to allow them to enter time off for any team members they manage through the web dashboard.
  4. Determine which days requests are permitted and turn on All Team Members to let them create their own time off requests.
