Hi KayZee. This can occur whenever a transaction that was previously reconciled has been changed in any way. What happens exactly is the transaction is unmarked as reconciled, this, in turn, throws off your ending balance for the reconciliation that was previously correct.
To fix it, you just need to navigate to the transaction in the register and mark it as reconciled. Here's how:
- From the register of the account that was reconciled, You'll notice to the right there's a column marked with a check at the top. Since the account was already reconciled, most of the transactions in this column will be marked with an R. Your goal is to find the ones that are not marked with an R which will also be the same two transactions you made changes to.
- Once you find the transactions, click in the column with the check until the transactions are marked with an R
- Last, select Save
