Accountants changes QBY file failed to import

I am having an issue importing journal entries from my tax accountant.

I keep getting...

Import Failed. Please try again later.

I was on the phone for over 2 hours with no resolution.

Accountants changes QBY file failed to import

This is not the type of experience we want you to have, @zoofari.

Let's fix the issue you're having with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) when importing your journal entries.

When you get your accountant's journal entry file, download it and save it as a QBJ file. Here's a detailed instruction for importing journal entries from your accountant

The file import error you're experiencing can be caused by data damage. You can run the Rebuild Data tool to fix minor company file data issues.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, hover to Utilities, and click on Rebuild Data.
  2. On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
  3. Let the tool repair your file. Click on OK once done.
  4. Go to the File menu. Then hover over Utilities and select Verify Data.
  5. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

If the error persists, I suggest following the next solutions outlined in the following article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file. It'll guide you with repairing your company file using QuickBooks File Doctor.

Here's how to resolve other errors you'll encounter when importing accountant’s changes into your company file: Fix errors and unexpected results when importing accountant's changes

From here, you can use the Transaction Journal report to check the debits and credits for each transaction you have.

Let me know if you need more assistance importing your journal entries. I'm always glad to help in any way I can. Have a great rest of the day!
