Hello -
I created a memorized report that I'd like to use across many QBD files. I 'shared' the report hoping it would be added to 'Contributed Reports,' however the report is not available.
Are there additional steps to adding a memorized report to the contributed section?
Thanks!
@Yal At the risk of asking the obvious, it may depend on both which industry the original company file was tied to, and the specific category of report; the first is part of a filter in the Report Center, though you can change it to All Industries; the second is listed at the left hand side.
You can also sort the contributed reports by 'Newly Shared', if that should help.
Here's hoping this isn't dead content in QuickBooks.
@FishingForAnswers I've tried loading it without the industry detail, all industries and a specific industry to no avail. I see them under Memorized>Shared in the originating file, but not in the contributed section or in any other files. Do you know if it takes time for the report database to update?
Thanks - the obvious answer tends to be right so many times. I tried sharing with no industry, all industries and a specific industry to no avail. In the original QBD file, I see the report under Memorized>Shared, but nowhere in the contributed section or in any other QBD file. In contributed, I searched by the report name and by newly created - but found nothing.
Do you know if the report database takes time to refresh with newly created reports?
@Yal "Do you know if the report database takes time to refresh with newly created reports?"
Unfortunately, I do not; the most I can offer is a concern over QB's habit of leaving their toys lying around to collect dust.
For instance, this entire support community.
I appreciate sharing your reports, Yal. I'm here to provide information about how shared reports are being added to the Contributed Report Center.
Sharing a report on the Contributed Report Center will take some time to be reflected online. Reports are uploaded from your computer to the server based on your internet connection speed. After uploading, your reports enter a queue for moderation, where they are reviewed and validated by moderators before being posted to the Contributed Reports. This process is similar to adding a post to the QuickBooks Community page.
Additionally, discontinued QuickBooks Desktop products 2021 and older are no longer able to use the Contributed Reports feature. For QBDT 2022, you can still use the feature until May 31, 2025.
Furthermore, you can learn how to create scheduled reports in QuickBooks Desktop. This helps you send reports on a regular and recurring scheduled time.
Thank you for taking the time to share your reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). If you have any further questions or concerns about reports in QBDT, please feel free to reach out. I'm here to assist you with anything you need.
Thanks - do you have an idea how long it takes to get through review?
Scheduled reports are unrelated to this project. I'm trying to run the same report on many files - not many reports on one file.
Thanks for checking back, @Yal.
There isn't an exact time frame of how long it will take for the review. It will depend on how long the Moderator's need for reviewing.
For now, I recommend keeping an eye out. You should be notified once the review has been completed.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have a good one!
