Advanced Reporting crashing

Running QB's Desktop 24.0 and can't get QBAR to run on 1 particular company file, let's call it Company A. Company files B & C work fine with QBAR.

"Have you updated any QB transactions since you last used Advanced Reporting?" [Update Now] or [Skip]

I select [Update Now] because we haven't used QBAR in about ~5 years

Then I get the following message..."Sorry, Advanced Reporting couldn't update your report"

The license has been synced, data has been verified and there are no pending updates available

Advanced Reporting crashing

Hello there, @Gambit.

I'm here to help you run Advanced Reporting in QuickBooks Desktop 24.0.

I understand you already updated your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest version which is QuickBooks Desktop 24.0. Since you're unable to access the Advanced Reporting and you're getting the error Sorry, Advanced Reporting couldn't update your report., I recommend checking some troubleshooting below to help you fix the issue. These steps vary depending on the anti-virus program you are using. Thus, I suggest you go to the anti-virus program support site for detailed instructions.

  1. Remove any parentheses, brackets or apostrophes in the company file path or file name by renaming folders or file.
  2. Re-open the company file and run Advanced Reporting.
  3. Change the date to follow the standard format: MM/DD/YYYY.
  4. Make sure that QVConnect32.exe isn't blocked by your antivirus program. If it is, you’ll need to add an exception for the QlikView connector in the AVP's real-time scan. QVConnect32.exe file location:
  • Windows 10 and newer: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\QVConnect\11.20.12235.0

Here is an article for the detailed steps: Install and use QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.

If the issue persists, you can contact our Customer Care team. This way, they can investigate further the cause of the issue.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and click QuickBooks Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Provide a brief description of your concern, and click Continue.
  4. Log in to your Intuit account, select Continue, then Continue with my account.
  5. Enter the single-use code you received in your email and hit Continue.
  6. Choose between Chat with us or Have us call you.

For future reference, you can read this to help you exporting reports to Excel: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if you have questions about running Advanced Reporting in QuickBooks Desktop. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

The file name is Gambit Construction_Master

Does the underscore create an issue?

Advanced Reporting crashing

Thanks for following up with the Community, Gambit.

According to our resource about using the Advanced Reporting feature, there's no relation to an underscore being in a company file's name and the “Sorry! Advanced Reporting couldn't update your report. Please try again.” message being displayed.

The only characters known to cause this message to display are apostrophes, brackets, and parentheses.

If the troubleshooting steps shared in Ethel_A's post didn't solve the situation for you, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

Detailed steps for reaching them can be found in Ethel_A's post.

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a lovely day!

Can you elaborate on these steps? Specifically changing the date. What date? Where?

  1. Re-open the company file and run Advanced Reporting.
  2. Change the date to follow the standard format: MM/DD/YYYY.

Did all the things above and the issue remains. QB support told me to contact QlikView, but the number given only allows me to leave a voicemail and support won't help because I don't have an account.
