After migrating to Simple Start from Desktop: is there a good way to make customers with unbilled billable expenses Inactive?

I followed the instructions provided three weeks ago in "Delete customer with unbilled charges in Quickbooks Online", but got stuck in Step 1 because the "Track expenses and items by customer" and "Make expenses and items billable" configurations are not available in Simple Start.

Is there anything better than to create an invoice for each unbilled billable expense, then delete the invoice?

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, mv2.

We need to delete all billable transactions associated with that customer to inactivate them in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how to delete the transactions:

  1. Click Sales in the left panel and choose Customers.
  2. Select the customer you want to inactivate.
  3. Under Transaction List, find and open the invoice.
  4. Click More at the bottom.
  5. Hit Delete and click Yes.

Once done, we can then proceed with deactivating the customer. Check out this article for more information on adding and deleting customers in QuickBooks OnlineManage your customer list.

In the same link, we can find details about changing and managing customers' information as well as a short video to serve as your visual guide.

If you have any other questions about customer-related concerns, I'd be happy to assist you, mv2. Have a wonderful day.

Hi, mv2.

Hope you're doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about inactivating customers. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I'd be happy to help you at anytime.

Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
