I know it's time-consuming to go through all these hurdles when doing your QuickBooks tasks, mmli396843. 

 

We've received reports about the Error message: An application error has occurred while processing your request when adding a new customer to the invoice in QuickBooks Self-Employed. To ensure that you're included in the list of affected users, I'd suggest reaching out to our Support Team. Rest assured that our engineers are working diligently to resolve the problem as soon as possible. While we cannot provide an exact timeline for the resolution, we will keep you informed via email.

 

To reach them follow the steps below:

 

  1. Go to Help (?) and select Contact Us.
  2. Note: If you’re using the QuickBooks Self-Employed app, tap the + button and select Ask QB Assistant.
  3. Enter “talk to a human”, then select Continue.
  4. Select which way you want to connect with us.
  • Have us call you - Get a call from a support expert.
  • Chat with us - Start a conversation with a support expert.

 

Please note that our live support is available Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM and on Saturday from 6 AM to 3 PM PT.

I am also getting the message,  not new clients,  but can't send or save a created invoice.. and ave tried in both my phone app and desktop Microsoft Chrome window. No luck. I gotta start doing the books before the service crew gets off for the night

We've received similar cases where users are unable to send or save invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). That said, I recommend contacting our QBSE Support Team to help with data gathering to start an investigation. If it's already open, you can opt to subscribe to the notification list to receive email updates.

 

To contact support:

 

  1. In your company, navigate to the Help (?) icon and select Contact Us, or tap the + button and pick the Ask QB Assistant option if you're using the QBSE app. 
  2. Enter Talk to a human and click on the Continue button to view the support options.
  3. From there, choose Have us call you to speak with an agent, or Chat with us to initiate a conversation.

YES!  I have been getting this error message since Wednesday!  QB's still has NOT fixed the problem and I am unable to invoice customers!

 

THIS PROBLEM MUST BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY SO I CAN INVOICE MY CUSTOMERS!

To verify, are you using the app and getting the error notification from there? If so, kindly follow these troubleshooting procedures to isolate the issue:

 

Android devices:

 

  1. Go to your device's Settings.
  2. Navigate to Applications or Application Manager.
  3. Select the QuickBooks Self-Employed app from the list.
  4. Tap on Storage, then Clear Data.

 

iOS devices:

 

  1. Navigate to your device's Settings.
  2. Go to General, then iPhone Storage.
  3. Choose the QuickBooks Self-Employed app from the list.
  4. Tap the Offload app option.

 

If the problem persists, kindly update the app from your App Store or Google Play Store to narrow down the result.

 

However, if you're using the web version, I recommend accessing your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This offers an isolated surfing experience that restricts local data from being saved in your browser's system.

 

Kindly refer to the keyboard shortcut keys below to proceed:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Once you can seamlessly generate the invoice using the private session, please revert to your regular browser and clear its cache and cookies. Doing so eliminates excessive data build-up that could cause functionality disruption in the platform. If the issue persists, you can utilize another supported browser.

 

Nevertheless, if the problem continues, I suggest contacting our Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account securely, ensuring they can verify the root cause of this matter.

 

Additionally, you can manually track your sales taxes in QuickBooks. This way, you can review your accumulated sales tax values in the platform.
