Backing up QB desktop on an external hard drive

I’m thinking about purchasing an external hard drive for our small business. Will I have to back up on local file then move to external hard drive?

You can just use a cloud drive (e.g GDrive). Secure the backup manually and upload it to your GDrive as we always do regularly.

I'm here to help you store a backup copy on your external hard drive.

 

To start, let's change your backup preferences. Doing so helps us decide where you want to store your file.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Select the File and hover over Back up Company. Then select Create Local Backup.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Choose where you want to store the copy.
  4. Make your changes and select OK.

 

Once done, you can back up your file.
