Bill pay through Melio is getting a double entry in QB ( Bill + Accounts Receivable) - All bill payments are double accounted in QB

upload bill then schedule and pay. Bill entry is created and when we pay through Melio an AR entry is created. Both entries are accounted all bill payments through Melio are accounted as double payments in the reports.

QuickBooks Online is dependent on the data that the bill payment processor transmits. The system will post the transactions the same way the bill service provider created them.

 

To get this sorted out, I'd suggest getting in touch with the Melio Support Team so they can investigate why your bill payments are being doubled in QuickBooks.

 

For now, you can exclude the duplicate transactions in QuickBooks, here's how:

 

  1. Click Banking in the left panel and choose Banking.

  2. In the For Review tab, select the transactions that are being doubled.
  3. Tap on the Exclude button.

  4. If you want to delete the transactions, go to the Excluded tab, select the transactions.
  5. Hit the Delete button.

If you are using the Billpay Online feature, consider opening a separate Melio account for free to integrate with your QBO. Upload some new bills and pay them thru your newly Melio account to isolate the issue.

As an additional option, utilize the trial version of a backup restore app before connecting your QBO account to the newly Melio account.
