Billing Rate Level List

We are on Quickbooks Desktop Premier Plus Professional Services Edition 2022

We need to delete two items on our Billing Rate Level List.  I receive the following message:

"Problem - Quickbooks cannot delete this Billing Rate Level because it is assigned to one or more employees, vendors, or other names"

Is there a report that will show me who/what still has those rate levels so they can be changed to the new rates and we can delete the old rates?

Billing Rate Level List

Hello there, @kj.

The Billing Rate Levels let you set custom service item rates for different employees and vendors. You can only delete the billing rate when you remove them from the vendors and employees.

There are no reports in QuickBooks Desktop that show vendors and employees who have assigned rate levels. You can manually review your vendors and employees to see if a billing rate level has been applied and then delete them in QuickBooks Desktop. Here's how:

1. Open the list to which you want to add a billing rate level

  • For employees: Select the Employees menu, then click Employee Center.
  • For vendors: Select the Vendors menu, then click Vendor Center.
  • For Other names: Select the Lists menu, then press the Other Names List option.

2. Double-click the name to which you want to remove a billing rate level.

3. Go to Additional Info (for employees) or Payment Settings (for vendors) tab.

4. Highlight the billing rate's name, then press the Backspace key on your keyboard.

5. Click Okay.

Once done, remove the two items from your Billing Rate Levels list.

You can refer to this article for more information on how to make changes or update your items in QuickBooks Desktop:  Add, edit, and delete items.

Keep me posted if you have further questions about your Billing Rates Levels or reports in QuickBooks Desktop. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!

Thank you!  I was trying to avoid having to go through 100+ employees and 350+ vendors.
