I'm happy to give you some insights about deleted invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Once you sent an invoice to your customer(s), they will be able to view it and the option to delete it on their end is unavailable. If you deleted the invoice from the app or in QBO, it will only remove the transaction on the program itself. However, you can inform your customer that the sent invoice is an incorrect one. Then you can now create a new one.
Here is an article I've included about the differences between voiding and deleting transactions in QuickBooks Online: Void or delete transactions in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, here's an article that will help you in the future in case you accidentally deleted an invoice or transaction in QuickBooks Online. This will provide you the information of the deleted transaction and recreate it manually: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.
Reach out to me in the comment section if you have any other questions about handling your invoices. I'm more than happy to help. Have a great day!

I emailed a customer an invoice, then deleted it by mistake. The customer called saying the invoice was deleted and they were no longer able to view it. If what your saying is true, why did it disappear on their end? Is there a way to change this?
Hi, @Traciej. I'm glad to have you here in the Community thread. It's my pleasure to provide you some insights about the deleted invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Your customer won't be able to view a deleted invoice in QuickBooks Online if the aforementioned invoice was intended to be paid via online payments. It's because if they click the link for Review and Pay, they won't be able to see the contents of the deleted invoice in your QuickBooks Online.
Please see the sample screenshots below:
If you want to recreate the invoice and send it again to your customer, you may refer to this article: Create invoices in QuickBooks Online.
You might want to set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online. You can divide an estimate into as many invoices as you need with progress billing. You can charge customers for partial payments rather than requesting full payment at the start of a job. This keeps project payments connected and structured throughout.
