Can I create a personalized donor receipt in qb without inappropriate fields such as "amount due" etc?

There seem to be certain fields set in the sales receipt template in QB that are inappropriate for a donor receipt and that i cannot seem to figure out how to change. These are terms such as "amount due" and "bill" to etc.

Can I create a personalized donor receipt in qb without inappropriate fields such as "amount due" etc?

Hello humanandholy-gma,

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community! We have an option to change your company settings to a non-profit organization. It will change "Customers" to "Donors" and "Invoices" to "Pledges," for example. However, the setup was the same when I checked out the sales receipt. Having experienced this, I can see how this feature would be beneficial in a situation like this. Therefore, I  will submit feedback to our Developers. They are always curious to know ways they can make our system better. Feel free to follow our QuickBooks blog, so you are in the loop with the new changes.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know below. My team and I are here to help! Have a good one!

Can I create a personalized donor receipt in qb without inappropriate fields such as "amount due" etc?

My company is already listed a a non-profit. However the receipts still reflect the characteristics of a sales receipt not a donor/tax receipt. My problem is that some of them seem to be unchangeable such as the "amount due" line on the bottom. I am wondering if that can be reconfigured?

Appreciate the update you have provided, @humanandholy.

I'll share insights about customizing sales receipts or tax receipts for non-profit organizations in QuickBooks Online (QBO) so you can personalize the layout you desired.

With the new features included in invoices and estimates, customers are now unable to customize sales receipts and its contents including the amount due line item with their newly created QBO account. However, the option to switch back to the old layout is still available.

This means you're able to use the old layout of invoices and estimates template making it possible to customize sales receipts as well. Simply click the Old layout button from a new or blank pledge transaction.

Kindly read and use the following articles below to learn more about the new and old layout of your sales form templates:

Now that the option to customize sales receipts is no longer available, I recommend letting our product developers know about this by sending a request via feedback. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Profile, select Feedback.
  3. Describe how an option to customize sales receipts in the new layout of invoices and estimates helps your business in QuickBooks.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Click Skip and send message.

I'm including our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page to track the status of your request and get the latest updates from our developer team. Updates such as how the recent enhancement made to QBO helps our business owners, like you.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other questions aside from customizing your sales form templates in QuickBooks. Use the Reply button and leave your comment below so that I can assist you further. Take care always, @humanandholy!
