Can I generate a 1099-MISC for our contractor with a Canadian mailing address? He is a US citizen and supplied his SSN. How do I get past the error message?

QuickBooks doesn't create nor file 1099s for contractors with non-U.S. address. With this, I recommend contacting IRS. This way, they can give you further details and recommendations on how to proceed.

as far as I know, you will have to do it manually, the IRS accepts manual forms
