Let me help manage your created invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
Once you saved an invoice in QBSE, it'll be tagged as Draft. You can go to the Invoices page and find the saved invoice with the Draft status and view it to review the information. Then, send the invoice to your customer.

I spent about two hours, creating detailed invoice for customer, then walked out of the computer for half hour. When I come back, I had to login again into QuickBooks again and my invoice was gone
couldn’t find it
had to start over again
So does qb save the draft automatically every couple minutes ? Same problem huge invoice and screen saver kicked on now cant find it

The option to automatically save your draft invoices is currently available in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). You'll have to click the Save as draft option to keep them.
