There are two ways to record the rent depending on how you receive the payment. If you expect to get paid later, you can create and send them an invoice; if you receive the money immediately, you can generate a sales receipt. Before doing so, you need to make a customer, account, and item in your QuickBooks Online so you can add them to the transactions you'll be making to track the rent.

I rent a Building from myself since I own both companies. How do I record rent without the added step of an invoice?
MY past accountant migrated me from desktop and it has little in common with the online version.
