Maybe I'm missing something but shouldn't the Cash Flow Hub look at the bank register instead of the Bank Feed bank balance? I wrote $100K in checks on Tuesday, and until I update the bank balance in a couple of days in Bank Feeds, CFH doesn't recognize that $100K is gone. It does however, recognize that those bills are PAID. Therefore, CFH thinks I have $100K more to work with. Stupid.
Totally agreed. Why Cash Flow Hub uses the balance from bank feeds is silly. It misses all outstanding payments as you mentioned. But, hey, what's $100K?;-)
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the Cash Flow Hub feature in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Pete. I'll share more details on how this function works and how you can use this option to keep track of all your company recordings.
In QBDT, please know that the expense in the Cash Flow Hub will be recognized once it clears the transaction from the actual bank account. Additionally, the CFH refers to the current balance in your linked bank feeds account. You can visit this page for more details about the option: Cash Flow Hub for QuickBooks Desktop.
If you want to view the amount of cash that flows to your business and the amount that flows out within a specific period based on the transactions in your register, you can use the Statement of Cash Flows report to achieve this feat. These are the steps:
I've attached a screenshot below for visual reference.
Furthermore, I'm providing this handy article on adding more details to the report to widen the data that the system can pull from your company file: Customize company and financial reports.
If there's anything else that I can assist you with or if you have more questions about the feature, please utilize the comment section. I assure you that I'll be around and ready to extend a helping hand in resolving your questions. Stay safe.

Please don't insult us. We're well aware of that fact. The entire point of this thread is to point out that the current balance in CFH ignores all outstanding transactions that haven't cleared the bank. Do you see why that's an issue?
