When, for example, I go to make a journal entry, I tab over from the date to the journal number, to the account # box. Usually I can just enter the account number (or scroll down through the choices) in the account # box. Instead I get this annoying "add new" box superimposed over the account # box. I have to take my mouse and click out of it in order to get rid of the "add new" box. The same thing is happening when I key in checks. This just started happening, and it is annoying.
I appreciate you for posting this here in the Community, @montgomeryviolins.
I understand that you want to disable the feature that automatically adds a new line item when clicking on the numbers in the number column in the journal entry. Currently, this option is unavailable. I'd encourage sending feedback to our Product Development Team to help improve your QuickBooks experience.
We're closely monitoring the ideas and suggestions of our customers and consider them when prioritizing feature development. When you're ready, here's how to submit feedback:

@montgomeryviolins If it's what I think it is, there is an entirely different thread about it. So many of us are having the issue, and NO ONE at QB will pay attention to what we are actually saying.
Mine still isn't fixed!! And it started after the system maintenance that they did. SUCH a joke!!
Mahalo for your response! It's driving me crazy: it slows down the speed in which enter data. It just started, along with the changing of the editing of customer info. Oh well, I'll send a note to the techs.
