I’m here to help so you can make your equity account numbers more organized, @CarlieG181.
QuickBooks Desktop offers Ascending and Descending options when generating a report. This enables the transaction periods and numbers to be displayed in order.
You can use the Account Listing, Balance Sheet Detail, and Equity QuickReport to arrange your equity account numbers. I’ll show you how:
- Go to the Reports menu.
- Select List, then choose Account Listing.
- Click the Customize Report button.
- Choose Ascending or Descending in the Sort in section.
- Press OK after.
You can also export the reports to Excel. This way, you can modify them the way you want them to be. Simply select the Excel button at the top, and then hit Create New Worksheet. The same applies when you run Balance Sheet Detail and Equity QuickReport.
I’ve attached a reference in case you want to keep the same report settings for future use: Create, access, and modify memorized reports. It helps you access the information quickly to save time.
Additionally, here's an article in case you need tips to customize your accounts in QuickBooks: How to organize your chart of accounts. This will allow you to quickly determine your financial health so you can make better arrangements moving forward.
Don’t hold back to drop a comment below if you have any other questions or concerns besides managing account numbers. I’ll always be here to help. Have a good one!
