Chart of Accounts for All New Clients

Hello!

All of my clients are in the same industry.  What is the easiest way to import the same chart of accounts in all of the QuickBooks accounts that i build from scratch?  I was thinking I saw somewhere I can have a template to quickly import.

Thanks!

David Schmidt

Chart of Accounts for All New Clients

Hello there, schmidtfs. Let me help you how to import your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

You have the option to import a spreadsheet containing custom accounts or your current accounts from another QuickBooks Online account. You'll need to download the template and map the spreadsheet format.

See this illustration below for the sample format:

Next, follow the steps on how to import a chart of accounts.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select Settings ⚙. Then select Import Data.
  3. Select Chart of Accounts.
  4. To upload a file from your computer, select Browse and choose the file. Then select Open.
  5. Or, to upload from Google Sheets, select Connect to sign into your Google account. Choose the correct file, and then Select.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Pick the Your Field dropdown, and map the details.
  8. Once done, Press the Import button.
