Anyone know how to edit, or turn off the auto-date fill when you enter data on check register?
For years, I have been able to edit the dates. (I do my books at the end of every month.) So now my check register is a mess! All the dates are set to TODAYS date, and not the dates that the transactions have occurred in my bank accounts. Anyone know how to change or edit them? Every time I change the dates manually, they dont save - it kicks it back to todays date. :(

RE: Anyone know how to edit, or turn off the auto-date fill when you enter data on check register?
There is no way to turn that off. It will always have a default, either today or the date of the last transaction entered, depending on the preference you set. Today is the default.
RE: For years, I have been able to edit the dates. (I do my books at the end of every month.) So now my check register is a mess!
Why does the ability to edit dates cause your check register to be a mess? It's never caused any issues for me that I can think of.
How is this related to your question about the default date?
RE: All the dates are set to TODAYS date, and not the dates that the transactions have occurred in my bank accounts.
Well, if you leave the default date alone as you enter transactions, that will be the date. Is that what you're describing?
RE: anyone know how to change or edit them? Every time I change the dates manually, they dont save - it kicks it back to todays date. :(
I've never seen that happen, where QB lets you change the date, then record the change, and then the date reverts back? Generally when you change the date and move off the check to another one, the date changes.
There are types of checks, I think including paychecks, where you have to open the check form in order to change the date, but in that case QB doesn't let you change the date to begin with.
