Class tracking and credit card payments

We recently start using class tracking. I enter a receipt paid for by credit card and classed those correctly. When it comes time to pay the credit card bill does it get assigned a class such as overhead or no class at all since the original transactions?

Welcome to the Community space, Jeanineg762.

When making a purchase using a credit card, you can enter a bill and mark it as paid using the Pay bill feature. You're doing a great job of classifying it into the appropriate class.

If the time comes to pay your credit card bill, you can enter the payment by utilizing the Transfer Funds feature. The same as recording the receipt you paid via credit card, you still need to assign a class. This enables you to follow segments you want to pay close attention to.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu, then choose Transfer Funds.
  2. Enter the date in the DATE field.
  3. Choose the correct class in the Class dropdown.
  4. Select the account you need to transfer the payment/bill from.
  5. Choose the Credit Card in the Transfer Funds to.
  6. Mark the box if you have it online.
  7. Enter the amounts and class if needed.
  8. Hit Save and close.

I'm only a post away if you have additional questions. Have a great day.
