Client report titles are different than my report titles (Non-Profit) QBO

Hello,

Recently my client (501 (c)3) printed their Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss reports and the titles had automatically changed to Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activity. However when I go into their QBO account as the accountant and print the same report it still shows Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss. I checked the settings and the company type is properly set to Nonprofit. We are not sure how the switch happened and for consistency I would like to print the reports to match what my client prints. We both use the same process, the only variable is that I sign on as the accountant and they sign in as a regular user.

What I don't want is to manually change the title to match theirs every time. So any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Statement of Financial Position and the Statement of Activity serve similar purposes as the Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet in for-profit companies, @jbonano. To verify any discrepancies in report names, I recommend logging into your account through a private window. I will provide more information below to resolve this issue.

It is essential to note that while browsers accumulate temporary internet files to speed up your browsing experience, this can also affect how the program works, potentially causing changes in its functionality. After verifying the Accounts and Settings to confirm that it is a non-profit entity, you'll want to access the account using an incognito or private browser. Use these shortcut keys to access one:

  • Safari 11 or newer: +Shift+N
  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once logged in, ensure that both the accountant and customer views display the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activity, rather than the for-profit equivalents. If they align correctly, proceed to clear your browser's cache.. Refer to this article for more details: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

It's also a good idea to try accessing your company file using other compatible browsers. For a list of browsers that work well with QuickBooks Online, please refer to this article: Other browsers.

If the persists, I recommend contacting our Live Support so they can further investigate the root cause of the problem. Please see this page for more information: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

Moreover, here's an article to help you modify and add more details or highlight data in your reports in QBO: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

If you would like to organize modified reports for future use in QBO, let me know in the comment section. I am also ready to assist you with any other QuickBooks inquiries. Stay safe.

Thanks for the response Kurt. I do know the differences between the non-profit titles vs for business report titles. I also don't need guidance on how to create customized reports I'm just looking for support on fixing my problem.

Unfortunately your reply was not helpful at all. Anyone else have any suggestions? I figured I could go through this platform instead of calling tech support, that way if other's had the same problem they could reference this question.

Thanks

Client report titles are different than my report titles (Non-Profit) QBO

Hi, Jbonano. I'll share the results of the replication I performed regarding the Balance sheet and Profit and loss reports.

I've accessed multiple QuickBooks Online accounts as an accountant and confirmed that regardless of the client's entity type, the accountant's access and view for printing reports should match the client's side.

The problem could be specific to your account's access. It is advisable to contact our technical support team for a thorough examination of the cause. The support team possesses the expertise and tools to resolve this quickly.
