Hello,
Does anyone know how to create a custom report that would show my Accounts Receivable or (A/R Aging Summary) on a cash basis along with my Register total at the same time on a specific date? Basically I would like to see how much is in my account and how much is in my receivables on the same report. The reason being is I see large fluctuations sometimes in dollars received and so I would like to be able to take those numbers and compare to previous days, weeks, months to each other without switching back and forth between pages.
Ex
11/25 - Register showed $350,000
AR showed $1,000,000
11/26 - Register showed $450,000
AR showed $900,000
12/1 - AR shows $1,100,000
I would like to see my Register at the same time as my A/R summary and then be able to go back and compare with other dates/value similar.
So what
Hello there, @Travis141.
Let's go to your Chart of Accounts and pull up Accounts Receivable's QuickReport so you can see how much is in the account and your receivables in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
QuickBooks makes it easy for you to compare your receivables and account balance on a specific date. To complete your monitoring task, you can pull up the Accounts Receivable account's QuickReport. You'll have to make sure you customize (for example, date and report basis) it to get the data you need. To do this, here's how:
Also, you may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you on how QuickBooks generates reports and see the complete list of available ones using QBDT: Understand reports.
Please don't hesitate to let me know in the comments if you have other reporting concerns or questions about managing customers and income transactions in QBDT. I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @Travis141.
Rea_M, Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately this only pulls up and shows the balance of my A/R changing. I would like to see my actual register with how much cash I have on hand at the same time.
Hi there, @Travis141.
The option to create a report showing the actual register of your Accounts Receivable account and the running total of your cash on hand is unavailable.
While the said custom report is not available, I suggest letting our product developers know this by sending a request via the feedback. I'll show you how.
For now, I'm including this reference so you're able to use all the features and functions of QuickBooks: Help Articles in QuickBooks Desktop. You can also read subtopics that will describe how features are used and how to accomplish tasks related to their functions.
I've got you covered if you have questions aside from generating reports in QuickBooks. Use the Reply option below and don't forget to include my name, @JonpriL, so that I can get back here and lend you a helping hand.
