Customer Balance Detail Report

I'm new to QB, and am looking at our office's Customer Balance Detail Report. Does anyone know the difference between the "Amount" balance and the "Open Balance" balance? Thanks in advance!

Customer Balance Detail Report

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, KKing11211. Let me clarify the difference between the Amount and Open Balance in the Customer Balance Detail report in QuickBooks.

The amount shown in the Amount field is the entire amount of the transaction or invoice you issued to your customer. While the number on the Open Balance represents the available amount that the customer owes you or that needs to be paid.

In case you need steps on how you can customize a report in QBO to focus on the details that matter the most to you: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you have other questions about QuickBooks Online reports. It'd be my pleasure to assist you further and provide you with accurate information, KKing11211. Stay safe!
