Customer detailed balance report with hidden job codes

Hi,

Is there a way to hide the customer job codes when running the "Customer Balance Detailed" report?  I would like to review the customer ledger without it being sorted by JOB CODE first.

Thank you for the help.

Customer detailed balance report with hidden job codes

Hi there, @craigharper.

I'm here to help ensure your customer report in QuickBooks Desktop will not display the names of corresponding jobs.

You can customize your Customer Balance Detail report and filter it to remove the names of your created jobs. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Under Customers & Receivables, select Customer Balance Detail.
  3. Select Customize Report.
  4. On the Filter menu, choose Job Status.
  5. Below the Job Status selection menu, select None.
  6. Click Ok.

Kindly read and use this article to learn more about how you can customize a report: Customize Reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Now that you're able to hide the name of a job in a customer report, I'm giving you a lead so you can generate a report showing other data of transactions based on the financial status you need. To do that, here's the topic you can utilize for reference: Create and Manage Reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

If there's anything else that I can help you with aside from generating a sales report for customers in QuickBooks, please let me know by tagging my name, @JonpriL, in the comments below. I'll be around and ready to help. Take care always and stay safe!

Customer detailed balance report with hidden job codes

@JonpriL  Your answer does not work at all. Filtering for Jobs with a None status will delete all of the detail for all jobs that don't have the status set to "None".

Which is not at all what the OP requested:

"Is there a way to hide the customer job codes when running the "Customer Balance Detailed" report? I would like to review the customer ledger without it being sorted by JOB CODE first."

The request is clear. The OP doesn't want to eliminate any job details, just put all the customer's details into one group, and not groups within the customer by Job.
