Data Collection on services provided

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I'm currently assisting my father with quickbooks.  We provide a service that collects waste oil and then resells it. Is there a way to quantify the amount collected per year? from all customers?

Any response is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Welcome to the Community, Krismarib2023.

If you've been tracking your inventory in QuickBooks, you can run the Inventory Valuation Summary and/or your Inventory Valuation Detail reports to find details about inventory value, stock status, pending builds, and worksheets for checking physical inventory.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to Reports, then Report Center.
  2. Enter "Inventory Valuation Summary" or "Inventory Valuation Detail" in your Search field.
  3. Select the appropriate report.
  4. Customize it as necessary.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about working with inventory and reports which may come in handy moving forward:

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome day!

Assuming that you sell all of the oil you collect, of very close to the same amount, then if you include the Qty of the oil on your sales transactions (invoices?) you can then use sales reports to infer the amount collected.  Does that work?
