Does anyone know How to change date of payment? Doing invoices over a year ago and it put todays date as payment received.

Kevin, thanks. Interesting it looks like the  option was available 3 years ago. As I found a link, which when attempted it did not give me the option the link said it would. 

Unfortunately life/flood/deaths/got in the way first of the year and trying to get taxes done with an extension.

So any suggestions on how to mark payment from last year paid from last year?

Came looking for this same thing. Found that the assistant function is currently down so I can't submit a request.

For accounting and tax purposes this should be an essential feature of the program especially considering Quickbooks relationship with TurboTax.

Where is this on the roadmap for improvements because this seems like a simple implementation that should have been resolved by now.

How can I escalate my account to have an internal team member edit my payment made date, I need this corrected for my 2023 taxes ASAP.

Today I went to go to the assistant to request the feature but that function is also currently not working.

Considering the relationship with QuickBooks to TurboTax I'm surprised this isn't fixed by now/a higher priority.

How do I reach out to someone to have them correct my payment made date for an invoice on the back end. I need this corrected for my 2023 taxes ASAP and it is unacceptable that this isn't an option for the end user. This should be a simple implementation to make.

I am aware of the advantages for businesses like yours to change the invoice payment date. I want QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to have this feature as much as you do.

But QBSE still doesn't have this feature. However, I strongly urge you to share your thoughts with our software engineers. They carefully examine customer feedback, especially when determining how to improve QuickBooks.

Currently, the browser Assistant button is not working to send feedback. I recommend submitting feedback using the QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app.

1. Select Assistant in the upper right corner.
2. Type in Feedback, then click Enter.
3. Follow the prompts to submit feedback.

Looks like this still isn't a feature – one that's definitely needed! – and the Assistant chat is still down on desktop version.

Any news on whether payment date editing will be offered in the near future? It's pretty crucial in determining proper income tracking per month.

I too need the ability to mark Invoices payment dates and not be marked as paid on day I marked them Paid in QuickBooks software. (I may not receive payment on same day I marked invoice as paid.)

I can't believe this is not an option in a bookkeeping software program for self-employed people. One cannot accurately record the date a payment is received—the only option is an uneditable "Today." That's completely unacceptable. Not every business owner can record transactions on a daily basis—nor would most want to. I am wrapping up my books from last year, and payments can only be recorded as occuring today, which basically makes Quickbooks useless for preparing my 2023 Schedule C.

This is slightly convoluted but I just did it and it worked.

1.delete the original deposit.

2. go to receive payments and delete the. payment

3.Then go to receive payment and enter the amount with the corrected date.

4. Go to. make deposit and deposit. 

It should then show up with the corrected date.
