Exceptions to Closing Date report in qb 2020 desktop

I hope you're doing well, gus6mm.

Let me share some info about the option.

The Exceptions to Closing Date is an option available for QuickBooks Online. You can use this report to see any changes made after you close your books. For more details, please check out this link: Edit your closed books.

As for the Desktop version of QuickBooks, we have the Closing Date Exception Report. This report displays the transactions that have been entered/modified on or before a closing date.

You can find the option by following these steps:

  1. Click the Reports menu located a the top.
  2. Select Accountant & Taxes and then choose Closing Data Exception Report.

To learn more about closing your books, feel free to read this article: Close your books in QuickBooks Desktop.

You're always welcome to post a reply if there's anything else you need. I'll be right here to give the solutions. Take care and stay safe.

Exceptions to Closing Date report in qb 2020 desktop

Thank you for coming back to the Community, @gus6mm. I'm here to guide you with your report.

I’ve replicated this on my QuickBooks Desktop test file and found out it works fine. The Exceptions to Closing Date report from the dropdown is visible on my end. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague @RenjolynC above.

I’ve included some snippets below for your reference:

If you’re seeing a different display, you’re probably using QuickBooks Online. If so, we’re unable to view Exceptions to Closing Date report dropdowns as of now. This issue has been reported to our engineering team.

With this, I’d recommend you contact our Customer Care Support. This way, you’ll be added to the list of affected users. Rest assured, you’ll receive a notification once the fix is available.

Additionally, the links below provide information on how you can modify and close your books:

You can always come back to me whenever you have other questions about your QuickBooks reports. Please let me know and I’ll get back to you.
