export vendor list with tax id

How do I export a list of vendors with their tax IDs shown? When I follow the steps others have posted the tax id prints in an encrypted form. Is there a way to show it decrypted?

example output:

{"idps":"2gIAAAAbAQAEAAAAFAUACE9lWDUyTC9lBgAGwkPY1f+/mfrKHDqjg4G6AVEj15dYmtT5UEAuMXTFbj7PxsZwo6onOn8ei3w="}

export vendor list with tax id

Hi Nathan,

Having a clear and exportable list of vendors with their tax IDs is crucial for efficient tax reporting. I’m here to provide some information on how to export this data in QuickBooks Online.

I’ve discovered that using the Vendor Contact List report in modern view will still display tax IDs in an encrypted format, and decrypting them is unavailable in QuickBooks.

If you have the ability to switch back to the classic view, I suggest doing so. This will allow you to view the tax IDs in their unencrypted form and export them directly in the report.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the search field, type and select Vendor Contact List.
  3. On the report page, click Switch to classic view.
  4. Click the small Gear icon, then select Show More at the bottom left.
  5. Check the Tax ID box and click Run report to apply the changes.
  6. To export the data, click the Export icon located on the left side of the small Gear icon.

If the option to switch back to classic view isn’t available, you might want to consider using third-party apps to export vendor tax IDs. To do this, go to the Apps menu, click Find apps, and then search for a suitable app.

You can also send feedback about this matter to developers. That way, they can review your suggestions and potentially include them in future updates.

Moreover, you can memorize reports and save their customized settings in QuickBooks.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance with exporting vendor tax IDs in QuickBooks, don’t hesitate to post them in the thread. I’m here to support you every step of the way.

One wonders what is wrong with the QuickBooks Online development team? Why do they spend time doing things like this instead of making QuickBooks Online actually useful?

This is another in the hundreds and hundreds, probably thousands, of ways QuickBooks Desktop is better than QuickBooks Online.
