Join nowI've been using Quickbooks Desktop 2020 on a windows 7 computer up until a couple months ago. Recently, i got a Windows 10 computer that i use it on but i noticed that exporting reports to Excel is INCREDIBLY slow on the new Windows 10 machine. If i backup the QBW file and restore it on my windows 7 machine, i can export to Excel MUCH faster. I mean, a report can take 20 minutes or more to export in Windows 10 but the exact same report will export in less than a minute on the windows 7 machine.
I did uncheck the "freeze" option in the export options as suggested to no avail.
As of now, i am backing up and restoring on the Windows 7 machine to export reports but that's not a good solution. Interestingly, the Windows 7 computer has a whole lot more running on it than the Windows 10 does. Does anybody have any ideas?

If you have 64 bit version of Excel on your Windows 10 machine and the 32 bit version on the Windows 7 machine, than that's why it's slower on the Windows 10 machine.
QuickBooks is 32 bit, and when it has to 'talk' to a 64 bit app like Excel 64 bit, things get very slow due to a ~hack from Microsoft called "marshaling" that slows things way down.
Let's check what's causing the export to run slower on Windows 10, FreddW.
Windows 10 is the required operating system for QuickBooks Desktop 2020. You also need to consider checking out the requirements for exporting reports.
Exporting reports requires Microsoft Excel 2016, 2013, or 2010 SP2 or Office 365 (includes 64-bit) on QuickBooks Desktop 2020. If you've managed to comply with these requirements, there could be an issue with Microsoft Office.
Follow the steps from Microsoft to repair Microsoft Office. When you're done, go back into QuickBooks and export a report.
If it still running slow, you may need to follow the steps from Microsoft to uninstall and reinstall Excel. Once done, you can export again your reports to Excel.
In addition to this, each version of QuickBooks Desktop works with specific versions of Microsoft Office. Check the system requirements for your version of QuickBooks: 2020.
Also, make sure your version of QuickBooks is up-to-date to have the latest fixes and features of the software.

I was having the same issue. What finally helped me was closing all other open Excel spreadsheets. Once I did that, the export time dropped from minutes to seconds.
