Filter account

Hi, I have already contacted support but it was not helpful to me. I need to filter the account in the balance sheet as well as in the profit and loss.
Support told me to filter the account on:
- profit and loss -> the click the personalization button at the top right of the screen -> then scroll down a little bit,
click Filter and select the account.

I have tried several times to make the filter with its indications, but unfortunately the report always comes out as in the photo.
I am attaching the photo and I hope you can help me.

Filter account

Hello, Alessia.

Thanks for the screenshot and taking the time to contact our support. I do have important details about the missing data on the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports.

On your second screenshot, you've selected the All Balance Sheet Accounts filter. The Profit and Loss report won't show those balance sheet accounts, which is why you're not seeing any data at all.

The Profit and Loss report shows the expense and income accounts, so you'll want to select the All Income/Expense accounts filter instead. You can also choose a specific income or expense filter if you want to exclude an account from the report.

As for the Balance Sheet report, run it separately since it shows a different set of accounts (asset, liabilities and equity accounts).

If you want to filter specific accounts, select your assets, liabilities or equity accounts.

If you'd like to learn more about these two reports, I can recommend these articles:

After running the reports, do you also need to reconcile your books? Check this article if you need a guide: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Do you want to learn more about other reports? Please let me know what you need to do and I'll help you out. If you have any other concerns about QuickBooks Online, I'll hear you out.
