Filter Accounts in Balance Sheet Report

So we just imported from QB desktop and it scraped up all these accounts that former users had left in various states of disrepair. Not a problem, except that now I can't get a balance sheet without them. I want the account balance report I had before, where I could pick which accounts and then have the TOTAL AMOUNT on the bottom. I can either have the total amount (balance sheet), or I can have just the reports I need (picking our actual ACTIVE accounts in Chart of Accounts), but not both.

I have to show this report in its proper format to our board.

I suppose I can make my own report in excel, but I feel that defeats the purpose of paying Quickbooks.

Filter Accounts in Balance Sheet Report

Hello, Impressionism.

I understand how important it is to have the choice of selecting an account and seeing the total amount at the bottom when running the Balance Sheet report. At the moment, this isn't possible.

Export the Balance Sheet report to Excel, or create your own Excel report and customize it to include only the information needed. It's also fantastic for product improvement to have the opportunity to filter it by account. I encourage you to provide feedback to our Product Development team for review. Once accepted, they can add the new changes in future releases.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your suggestion.
  4. Hit Next to submit.

I've also added this article for more information: Run a Balance Sheet report in QuickBooks Online.
