We are about to transition to QuickBooks Desktop from a different financial system. I pull multiple different sets of financials each month (one for owners, one for management, one for the sales team, one for the operations team, etc.), meaning that we use multiple P&L's and Balance Sheets that are mapped differently according to the purpose of who is looking at the statement. In QuickBooks, it looks like I have no flexibility to change the way the financials are mapped. It is totally based on how I set up the chart of accounts. In the previous system, I could create different financial statement schedules within the system, moving things around as I needed to, but I am not seeing this in QuickBooks. We also like to look at things like prior year YTD through the same period, analyze % of gross sales rather % of income, and other things that it does not look like I have control over in QuickBooks. What options do I have to customize financials statements in QuickBooks Desktop?

Hey there, @vytronaccounting.
It's great to see you back in the Community. Let me share some insight on this subject.
At this time, there isn't a way to change the way that the financial reports are mapped. However, I can point you in the right direction of how to customize and use particular preferences on reports to help you out. Review the link below for more details:
Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions. It's my priority that you get answers to your questions. Have a wonderful day!
As an additional option, utilize a BI app to generate various reports, including combining your reports from other apps.
Thank you for the help, are there any apps you would recommend?
I'm here to lend a hand with any concern you may have with the app integration for QuickBooks Desktop, @vytronaccounting.
Since we don't recommend a specific app to use in this public forum, I recommend visiting our Intuit App Center. You can either access this section within QuickBooks or through your web browser.
If you want to search integrated apps through QuickBooks, check out these steps:
To expedite the process, enter a keyword in the Find Applications field or go to the Categories section and select the specific functionality. From the list, look for the one that best suits your business needs. You can also check the customers’ reviews for a better comparison.
Also, QBDT provides different reports that cater to your business needs. If you wish to learn more about how the system generates your reports, I'd recommend checking out this article: Understand reports. It also includes a table where it lists all the available reports in QBDT and their description.
Please touch base with me here for all of your QuickBooks needs, such as using third-party apps. I'm here to ensure your success. Have a nice day ahead, @vytronaccounting.
Another great one I found that works really well for this is ExcelFSM. The team is helpful and the excel add on works great for customization. It also allows me to use off month end dates which I needed.
