for audit purposes should all info be the same across multiple platforms?

so we are in the process of switching manually from one software to another. i am finding that in one system the invoice number is X but in another its a, b, c, etc. i need to know if i am correct that for auditing purposes, shouldnt everything be the same across the board? it does mean a little more data entry but that's not a problem. for example, one X invoice has multiple payments posted to it. invoices a, b, c have the same payments posted, separately of course. does that make sense?

thank you, just wanted to make sure it wasnt just my OCD out of control! i've done audits for car dealerships in the past and was always complimented on how streamlined my stuff was. thanks!
