Fraudulent activity what do I do?

Hello, @lashbrent. I'm here to route you to the support team to address your concern about a refund.

I need to gather enough resources to check the information about the fraudulent transactions you've received. For security reasons, I won't be able to display your information here in the Community forum.

For the time being, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team for further assistance. A live agent can open your account securely and share with you some details on how to process the refund.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?)  at the top to open the QB Assistant window.
  3. Scroll down to the Type something field and enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click the Get help from a human link and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
  5. Choose Start a chat or Get a callback.

You can check this article for more information about the different types of support we offer and their availability: QuickBooks Online Support.

For future reference, I've included an article you may want to read about Intuit charges: How to understand your subscription rates and charges.

Get back to me if you have any other follow-up questions. I'd be happy to answer it for you.

Fraudulent activity what do I do?

My email has been used for a fraudulent subscription, who do I need to contact?

Fraudulent activity what do I do?

Welcome to the Community, BobbiJo042580.

Initially, I'd recommend confirming if the emails you're receiving are phishing, spam, spoof, or hoax emails. Suspicious emails can sometimes be a scheme to get you to share personal information. These scams come in different forms, but often can look convincing.

Here's a few things you can check to confirm if an email came from Intuit:

  • Intuit will never ask you for personal info in an email. If you're receiving an email asking for personal details, it's not from Intuit.
  • Any link Intuit sends in an email will always be for an Intuit.com web address.
  • Intuit emails will always come from an email address ending with "@Intuit.com" or "@e.Intuit.com".

If you're still not sure whether the email's from Intuit or not, you can review our security notices for information about known suspicious emails reported by Intuit customers.

You can also report suspicious emails from the Intuit Online Security Center. You'll have to go to Go to security notices, then select Report a suspicious email to file a report.

I'd also recommend reviewing our online security tips to help you keep your personal/business info safe.

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a lovely day!

Fraudulent activity what do I do?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Jake.

I'm here to help and provide insight about fraud in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I understand how important this is, and I want to make sure we resolve it as quickly as possible. Firstly, it's important to verify certain things to identify any fraudulent charges within QBO. There are various types of scams, but they often appear quite convincing. Here are a few signs to watch out for if you're uncertain whether an email is from Intuit.

  • We’ll never ask for your personal info in an email.
  • Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com.
  • Any link we send you in an email will always be for an intuit.com address.

You can check this page to guide you more and prevent fraudulent activities inside your company file: Identify suspicious activity, phishing scams, and potential fraud

Moreover, as this involves checking your account details, which is beyond the scope of what can be done in the Community space, I recommend contacting our support team. They will securely access your account and provide possible solutions to address your concern.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Hover to the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  3. Type in a short description of your issue and concern in the box provided.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Select the Chat or Callback option.

You can contact us from Mondays to Fridays, 6 AM to 6 PM PT.

I'll also add this article in case you would like to update your company's information: Change your business name, contact info, or EIN in QBO

In case you have any follow-up questions regarding fraud or anything else related to QuickBooks, feel free to ask me. I'm always here to help you, Jake.
