Can a customizable report reflect gross hourly and overtime wages for all employees for a certain time period?  I've been combing through reports and I'm not seeing what would fit my situation.

Yes, utilitree. Let me help you customize your report so you can see the gross hourly and overtime wages of your employees according to your specified period.

The customized report will help you see the specific data you want to view in your report. To see the gross hourly and other information, you can pull up the Payroll Summary and adjust it accordingly by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Reports, click the Employees & Payroll, then choose Payroll Summary.
  2. Click the Customize Report.
  3. Under the Display tab, you can click the Dates dropdown and choose the date that you want to pull up and populate on your report.
  4. From the Display Columns dropdown, click Employee or according to your preferences.
  5. Navigate to the Filters tab, then enter Payroll Item from the Search Filters.
  6. Click the Payroll Item dropdown, then click the Multiple payroll items.
  7. Tick the Overtime Rate, Regular Pay, and other choices you'd want to include in your report, then click OK.
  8. Click OK once again to exit the Modify Report: Payroll Summary window.
  9. Press Refresh.

If you want to export your report out of QuickBooks and analyze or modify it in Microsoft Excel, you can utilize this article: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

@utilitree  Does the payroll summary not fit your requirements?

It is customizable and, in fact, can even display by week, month, year, class, whichever really, across the time period you choose.

That particular feature is handled by way of the 'Show Columns' dropdown menu near the top of the report.
