It's possible to issue an invoice in partial quantity from an estimate using the Progress Invoicing feature in QBO. Before doing so, let's go to your Account and settings and turn on the feature. Here's how:
To continue, let's go to your Estimate and create a partial quantity. Please know that the option to choose number of items to convert into invoices is currently unavailable. You'll need to manually calculate the percentage of items to be converted. Here's how:

In your example above, instead Of entering $200 how do I enter the quantity and allow it to figure out the dollars. If the customer orders 40 and I only shipped 23.5 and they cost $800 each, can I just enter 23.5, or do I have to do the math? Can the system do the math for me?
In QuickBooks Online, we need to manually calculate the 58.75 percent to 23.5 to determine the cost for the units shipped, Greenlandj44.
Currently, there is no option to simply enter the quantity if you want to partially invoice 23.5 pieces out of 40. Your option is to do the math, because we can only enter the equivalent amount ($) or percentage (%) of the partial. Having said that, 23.5 pcs of 40 at $800 each is 58.75% or $18,800. This is what you'll enter in the Due field, as shown in the screenshot below.
