You can signup for a separate Melio account for free with more features to integrate with QBO. Your vendors/contractors can get paid exactly how they want. When you schedule the bill payment, the app will ask how your vendor/contractor would like to receive payment and you can select "Ask vendor for payment details". Your vendors/contractors will get an email asking them how they’d like to accept the payment.

You can also try @4Gal's suggestion about using Melio. They make paying vendors easy and hassle-free by allowing small businesses to process payments by ACH bank transfer, credit card, or debit card, even if the vendor only accepts checks.

Thank you for this reply. Is BillPay no longer syncing with QBO? We have been doing our payment through them for a few years and it used to sync. And if we just use QBO bill pay service, it looks like we need to ask the vendor for their account info, and enter it ourselves. That seems a bit invasive. Is there a more automated way of doing that the way the Bill.com used to do?
Thanks - we will investigate this.
