Hello info939,
The NCF number is an extra number specially issued and made to control better the invoice system of businesses. Also, this is used for charging and filing for tax /ITBIS in Dominican Republic. IT consist of 19 digit numbers. The first 13 digits are used to indicate what kind of business you have, while the last 6 digits work as regular invoice numbers.
In QuickBooks Online, we have an option to manually enter the invoice numbers. Here's how to do it:
Now, we can enter the numbers manually when creating the invoices. For example, you have created an invoice with the invoice number of 1023456789313000001. The next invoice will automatically populate the invoice number as 1023456789313000002.
That's how we do it. However, I'd still recommend reaching your accountant to see if they have a better way of entering the numbers in QBO.
Feel free to get back to us if you have additional queries.
Hi Gabino
The field of NCF or Invoice Number is very particular for the Dominican Republic, "QuickBooks Online" can only handle one numerical sequence, it does not manage different sequences for the different Invoice models (with Fiscal Value, without Fiscal Value, Special Regime, Governmental, Credit Note). Under this situation, you will have to manually control the Numerical Sequence for the different Invoice models, but also you will have to make the Invoice designs in MS Word and import it into QuickBooks Online (attached an example).
