How can addresses be saved under mileage? I am back-filling some of this information because I just started using QB and I'm having to fill in my own full-length address AND the client's full-length address each time.

Saving addresses for trip tracking is my specialty, hello-spacemades. I'll gladly show you how.

Let's start by creating your list of favorite locations. These will auto-populate when it comes time to review your trips.

Here's how:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  2. Tap your Profile.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Manage favorite locations.
  5. Tap Add favorite location.
  6. Enter the address of the location you’d like to save.
  7. Name the location, then tap Add.
  8. Tap Save.

In case you’re entering a new trip manually, you can quickly save the location at the same time. I'll show you how:

  1. From the Milage tab, tap the Plus (+) button.
  2. Enter the date, total mileage, and purpose of the trip.
  3. Enter the address you’d like to save.
  4. Tap Add to favorite locations.
  5. Name the location, then tap Add.
  6. Tap Save.

To learn how to edit or remove an address, please see this article: Create and Manage Favorite Locations in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll help you learn more about managing and tracking trips in QuickBooks:

This only works for the app, not for the browser. It seems that you can only use the "make round trip" feature in the browser, and you can only store common addresses in the app. Ugh.

I'm having the same problem.  I want to manually add trips for an employee vehicle.  One of my locations is not working.  I need to add another app to manage the locations. Add trips on my phone. Go to my computer for round trip and to see the dollar amount.  Then I will need to remember everything.  This is the most cumbersome thing!!

Thank you for joining the thread, @LBG7. This is not the kind of impression that we want to live with you.

I want to make sure that you’ll be able to track trips easily in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). To isolate this matter, can you provide me with further details about this issue? Did you get an error or is the address not saved when manually adding the trips? Additional information is much appreciated.

Keep me posted about this concern. I’ll make sure to get back as soon as I can to get you back to business in no time. Stay safe!
