You can run two reports to get the data you need, jbeato2009.

The Transaction List by Customer and Transaction List by Account can show you if an invoice has been matched to a deposit or not. You'll only need to filter it to show the Cleared status and the Transaction Type.

Like this:

  1. Click Reports on the left panel.
  2. Type Transaction List by Customer/Account in the search box.
  3. Click the Customize button in the upper right-hand corner.
  4. Maximize the Rows/Columns section, and then click the Change columns link.
  5. Check the Clr box.
  6. Maximize the Filter section.
  7. Check the Transaction Type box and choose Invoice.
  8. Checked the Cleared box and select All.
  9. Click Run report.

After filtering the report, look for the invoices that doesn't have a letter C under the CLR column. This means that they are not yet matched to any deposits.

If you have any further questions, just let me know.

Hey,

I followed all your steps but the report I get is showing blank under CLR column even for the invoices i have manually matched to banking.

When i sort by all and not just transactions it shows payments and invoices in the report but the payments have a C marked under CLR.

Am I going wrong somewhere ?

I'd like to check why your report is not showing the correct details, Siddharth sawhney.

When you see a C mark on the payments under the CLR column, it only means one thing. They were successfully matched to the invoices. Please take note though that in the reports, only the payments will be recognized as cleared and not the invoices. This behavior in QBO is working as designed.

To find the unmatched invoices, you'll have to do it directly from the Banking page.

Here's how:

  1. Click Banking on the left panel.
  2. Look for a payment in the For Review tab.
  3. Select the Find Match radio button.
  4. Click the Show drop-down, and then select Open invoices.
  5. From the list, look for the match and select it.
  6. Click Save.

You can also take a screenshot of the open invoices list so you don't have to switch tabs.

Please keep me posted if there's anything else you need.

I figured it out for anyone who is doing this report, but still showing blank under CLR. To get this to work.

Go under Customization

Unselect the option to filter by Distribution Account.

Make sure Cleared is selected as your filter option. And All is the filter that is checked, or you can select an appropriate option depending on what you are looking for. Cleared means it's been matched to a transaction(banking transaction). Reconciled means it's been reconciled using the reconciliation feature.  It also looks like this cleared feature only works properly when using it on bank accounts, not income accounts, unless you use the deposit detail report under the reports tab. Also, if it is blank, I believe that means the transaction is uncleared (meaning it has not been cleared or reconciled)

Hope this helps someone. I couldn't find the answer but figured it out on my own.
