Greetings, @john11.
It's nice to see your post today in the QuickBooks Community. I'd be happy to help share the steps you need to get a list of your journal entry numbers that do and don't contain attachments.
To begin, let's make sure that in the settings the account numbers are setup to show on the transactions and reports.
Here's how:
- At the top right, click the Gear icon.
- Select Account and Settings.
- On the left pane, select the Advanced tab.
- Click the Chart of accounts section, then make sure the Enable account numbers box is checked.
- Check the Show Account Numbers box.
- Click Save.
- Click Done.
To identify the journal entries with and without attachments, you can add a short description on them so that it'll show on the report. After that, let's customize the Journal report to show the number and description.
Here's how:
- On the left pane, select Reports.
- In the Go to reports field, type, and select Journal.
- Set the date range.
- At the top right, click the Customize.
- From the Rows/Columns drop-down, check the Num and Memo/Description box.
- Click Run report.
Once done, you can also memorize this report to save its current settings and for future use. If you need additional help, you can also reach out to our phone specialists to guide you through the complete process.
That should do it. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any other questions in getting a list of journal entry numbers in QuickBooks Online. I'll be happy to help you out.
