How can I remove duplicate statements ending on the the same date?

I edited a transaction that was already reconciled for June and now I'm stuck in a loop with my 7/31/2020 reconciliation. There are 4 statements ending on 7/31/2020 in my reconciliation report because I've tried to move on that many times.

How can I remove duplicate statements ending on the the same date?

Hello @freedom1alexis,

You have to options to remove a statement ending transaction so you can with your next reconciliation.

First off, you can change the status of the transaction in question to reconciled since you already confirmed it is part of your last reconciliation. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to Accounting.
  2. Select your bank account.
  3. Under ACTION, select View register.
  4. Choose the statement ending entry.
  5. On the checkmark column, change its status to by clicking it.

But if it's true the transaction is a duplicate, you can go ahead and delete them from the list. Make sure to remove the status first under the checkmark column before doing so.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can fix the ending balance of your reconciliation: Fix issues at the end of reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, I've also included this reference with a compilation of articles you can use while working with your bank reconciliation: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

If you have any other questions, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.
