Hi there, @Palang.
Currently, templates from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) aren’t possible for use to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and vice versa as QBO is a cloud-based application that functions differently from QBDT.
You can only import templates within the same QuickBooks products for example QBO to QBO and QBDT to QBDT. However, if you have the newer version of QBO. Then, importing templates is no longer available.
If you want to import the template from QBDT to another Desktop company file, you can follow the steps below:
- Open the company file that you want to import the template into.
- Go to the Lists menu, and select Templates.
- Select the Templates ▼ dropdown, and select Import.
- Choose the template you want to import, and click Open.
- Enter the name of the imported template to easily identify it.
- Select OK.
I’m also adding this article for your reference when using and customizing them in the future: Use and customize form templates.
Moreover, I added this resource in case you run into problems when using customized templates: Fix common issues when you use and customize templates.
