You'll need to set up a project to add a job under an existing customer in QuickBooks Online (QBO), outbackpc. I'll guide you on how to do this accordingly below.
Let's start by turning on the Projects feature if you haven't already. Here's how:

- Find the Projects section and select Edit ✎ to expand the page.
- Turn on the Organize all job-related activity in one place option.
- Select Save and Done to save the changes.
After that, create a project for an existing customer. Follow these steps to complete the process:
- Select the Projects menu on the left panel.
- Click the New Project button.
- Give your project a name.
- Select the existing customer you’re working for from the drop-down menu.
- Add any notes or details about the project.
- Click Save.
Once you're done, add transactions to your project and track its labor costs. Please see this article to guide you through the process: Set up and create projects in QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, if you currently use sub-customers to track customer jobs, you can convert them into projects and use the job costing features to keep everything in one place. If you wish to learn more about this, please see this article: Change sub-customers into projects QuickBooks Online.
