How do I add an adjusting journal entry? It says there is a box to check but I do not have one.

If you have a QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) subscription, you'll find the Adjusting Journal Entry checkbox beside the Journal number on the upper right side. I've added a screenshot for your reference:

You can signup for a QBO Accountant account with another email address to utilize it. Another option, you have to use an importer tool to do so.
