How do I add an Aging column to a custom report?

Basically, I have a report created that I just want one addition column to show, which is aging.  I can't find how to add that column to the report.  I was able to add it to several reports that I created when we used to use QuickBooks Desktop, but can't find it in the Online version.  It would also be nice if I'm able to have maximum aging days appear in the group totals row.

I have already looked at the A/R Aging Detail Report and that does not solve my problem.  Even on that report I can't get a column that shows the number of days for a specific invoice, just the aging period that it fits into.  Even if I could customize the periods to 1 day each with like 2000 periods (which I can't find a way to modify anyways), I need the report grouped by customer so it wouldn't help.

I've also looked at the older Accounts Receivable Aging Detail Report, but it doesn't allow me to add some of the specific columns that I need to include.

How do I add an Aging column to a custom report?

I'll ensure you'll able to generate a report that contains aging details in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Bryan.

Adding an Aging column to a report is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). The program has its own aging report for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable that you can access to view outstanding transactions of your customers or vendors.

You can add other columns and filter the A/R Aging detail report to see all the overdue invoices. I know that you've already accessed this however, since you're unable to add an Aging column to any report, adding further modification might help you see the data you need. When ready, refer to these steps:

  1. Select the Reports menu.
  2. In the Search bar, type A/R Aging Detail Report and click it to open.
  3. Once opened, click the Filter option.
  4. Choose Transaction type in the Filter box, select contains in the Operation field, and type Invoice in the Value bar.
  5. Next, select the Columns option and check the boxes for Due Date and Past Due. You can select other columns you need, reorder the arrangement, and remove those you don't need.
  6. Then, set the correct Report period.
  7. When done, click the Refresh report option to apply the changes and then, click Save As.

You can read this article for reference: Run an accounts receivable aging report.

Additionally, you can send a report you've modified by email on a recurring schedule. For detailed instructions, check out this article: Set schedule and email information for a memorized report.

I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have other concerns tracking the aging transactions of your customers. Please keep me posted. Have a good one.

How do I add an Aging column to a custom report?

Did you read my post at all or just the subject?  If you read it, you'd have known that I've already tried everything that you just described and it does not give me the type of information I am looking for.

How do I add an Aging column to a custom report?

Hello there, Bryan.

I believe that you're fully aware that adding an aging column to your personalized report is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I encourage sending your suggestions directly to our Product Development Team. They will carefully consider this option to ensure it meets your business needs effectively.

To send a feature recommendation, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top, then tap Feedback.
  2. Indicate your comments or suggestions.
  3. Then select Next to submit your Feedback.

You can trace requests for features through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

As this feature is currently unavailable in QBO, we can export your report to Excel and add the aging column as a workaround. Furthermore, when reviewing the report and you notice some missing data, the file is in a protected view. Just click on Enable Editing to view the full report.

In addition, you can also scan this article to know more about exporting other than reports in QBO: Export your reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online
