Let me guide you on how to change an expense transaction to payment from an equity account, pinkman4949.
If you're referring to changing an expense transaction to a payment transaction, you can delete the transaction and recreate it as payment. To do this you can follow the steps below.
- Go Expenses on the left menu.
- Locate for the transaction.
- Under the Action column, click the drop-down arrow and select Delete.

Once done, record a payment for your bill. Just make sure to select the correct category. You'll also want to enter the transaction directly into your Chart of Account. Here's how:
- Click Accounting on the left menu.
- Go to the Chart of Accounts tab.
- Click the drop-down arrow below the Date.
- Select the transaction that you want to enter and make sure to select the correct account.

- Click Save.
For your reference, you can add and match online bank transactions with what you entered in QuickBooks Online.
